Steering Committee

The Dagu Steering Committee oversees the activities of the Dagu project, regularly reviews progress and plans, and makes recommendations to support effective implementation of the project’s three objectives. These are:

  • To estimate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the innovations implemented in the Optimizing the Health Extension Program in Ethiopia project on care-seeking and treatment for suspected pneumonia, diarrhoea, fever, and neonatal sepsis, and to estimate mortality effects through modelling
  • To strengthen Ethiopian universities’ capacity for supporting data use in decision-making for iCCM and CBNC
  • To support PATH and UNICEF, the implementation partners, in measurement, learning and evaluation, to ensure that monitoring data and interim evaluation findings are used to inform course-correction throughout.

For the duration of the project (until October 2020), the Steering Committee will meet twice a year, usually in Addis Ababa. Meetings are chaired on a rotational basis, by the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Federal Ministry of Health and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
